Basic questions answered from this passage:

  • Paul is writing Romans 12:1-2 to believers.
  •  Unbelievers are never called by God to present their bodies for His service. They cannot do this until they have placed their faith in Christ. Their worship is unacceptable till they are identified with Christ at salvation.
  •  We are to present our bodies to Christ’s service.
  •  We are to present our bodies as a living sacrifice to God, because of the mercies of God, because it is His will, and because it is logical.

  • In light of the blessings that we have in Christ, we are commanded to present our bodies for God to use as He chooses.
  •  This decision to present our bodies to Christ’s service is pleasing worship to God.
  •  God’s will is good, not bad; pleasing to God; and in makes logical sense.
  •  We need to realize that our thinking and living is naturally bent toward this world.
  •  We need God to renovate our minds through His word, so that we will reflect His character and actions more purely each day of our lives, for His glory.
