Reflections on our first month…

07 Apr

It is hard to believe we have already been in Ghana one month.  The time has flown, and brought our family several times to reflect and refocus our energies on our burden to reach people with the gospel as well as prepare for our first church plant.  Here is a quick rundown of things as they currently stand:

Blessings:

Anchor Baptist Mission is now officially recognized in Ghana, which will allow us to apply for our work and resident permits.

Evangelism contacts: Deanna is currently in studies with two ladies as well as several of our neighbor’s children.  I am in studies with two men, and have also gotten excellent opportunities to present the gospel to several of their friends.

We made several good first contacts this week with maybe a half dozen other prospects.

The men at Anchor Baptist Church Abura have made some encouraging steps in their spiritual growth evidenced by their willingness to take responsibility for future outreach endeavors.

Burdens:

The conversion of the people we have been working with.

Establishment of productive gospel studies with our prospects.

Communication gaps in language and culture.

Developing language skills.

Container’s arrival this next week.

Resource development

Immigration status
