Thank you for your continuing to uphold our family in prayer this past week. We are still learning to adjust to our electrical situation which has been very inconsistent. We were without power four evenings this past week, which really made for some sleep deprived evenings. Please pray that this situation stabilizes. We are looking into a backup power alternative, however we need travel to the capital to take care of this situation, and we are still without our vehicle. I am looking forward to several gospel studies this week. Lord willing I have a follow-up study on Tuesday, which is fourth time I have met with that young man as well as a follow-up with a couple at the university on Friday and follow-ups with three young men I met playing football Saturday morning. I am also waiting to hear back from several others with whom I have initiated studies. We have found that a progressive study laying a foundation and working to the person and work of Christ is most effective when dealing with people here. Evangelism is truly a work of patient sowing. With many of these people, I anticipate weeks and in some situations months of meetings before they grasp the simplicity of a gospel that is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. Please pray that God will open their blinded eyes, and continue to open opportunities. Deanna has been doing the same thing with several neighborhood children who come to play with little Joel. Most of them speak good English, and they have had some really interesting questions for her. Please pray that she will be able to reach into the lives of more of our neighbors especially the ladies. Language studies are coming along well. From time to time, I feel like information overload, but we are picking the langauge a little at the time. Please keep that in prayer as well. Learning the language will help bridge a lot of gaps, open more doors for evangelism, and help us assimilate into our new culture. God Bless.
